We are currently looking for a Project Accountant based in Miami, FL. This is a great opportunity to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Assemble monthly payment requisitions from Construction Manager and multiple owner/soft/non-cap sources.
  • Check requisitions for compliance, including backup components.
  • Finalize and prepare submissions to client and Miami Dade County.
  • Coordinate with requisition sources for any corrections/discrepancies against timelines and deadlines.
  • Organize and archive records in preparation for any audit requirements for the project.
  • Work with Project Management to keep and understand updated agreements including change documents and adjustments.
  • Review subcontracts and subcontractor change orders. Review change orders for proper attachments and backup, math errors and check established billing rates.
  • Keep accurate records and communicate budget structure and change tracking within both project budget and oversite of Construction Manager budget (and others) to ensure compliance as well as generate relevant reports and updates.
  • Assisting the Project Management staff with managing direct Miami Dade County enrollment and vendor payment process.
  • Coordinate with Construction Manager and other sources for processing of Miami Dade County “Owners Direct Purchases” direct purchases and fulfillment.
  • Coordinate closely with purchasing/procurement agent to remain on budget as well as cash solvent for timely orders and completions.
  • Be fairly schedule/work hour flexible given the asymmetric workloads of the monthly payment and reporting cycle (i.e. periods of routine work and periods of intense over-normal efforts each month).
  • Most importantly the project accountant needs to be responsible for coordinating and meeting deadlines in the crucial cash flow cycle of the project.
  • Assist Project Management with closeout procedures. Ensure that all costs have been received, processed and included in the final billing. Check that all applicable waivers have been received.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or commensurate experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' of experience as a Project Accountant within the construction industry is required.
  • Familiarity with Textura, Procore or other financial software programs.
  • Proficient working knowledge of cost analysis
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
