We are looking for an Associate Director in Sacramento, CA to support the Senior Director on a number of projects with an emphasis on K-12 and healthcare sectors. We are looking for a go-getter, Senior Project Manager, ready to take the next step in their career. Come join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and under the direction of the Senior Director to accomplish strategic goals.
  • Supports the Senior Director in the review and control of project budgets, schedules, and costs to ensure conformance with authorized scope, time, and budget requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of multiple programs and projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients to ensure client satisfaction. Understand clients' needs and ensure that the firm delivers value while managing expectations.
  • Address and resolve any issues that may arise during program and project execution to ensure the quality of deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and other team members. Support in recruitment, training, and professional development of the project management team. Foster a positive team culture.
  • Contribute to the financial forecasting and budgeting for the division ensuring profitability.
  • Identify potential business opportunities and partnerships. Contribute to proposal development and presentations.
  • Constantly assess and refine project management methodologies and tools used by the firm. Support in implementing best practices and ensure consistency across projects.
  • Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure that the firm remains compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Act as a liaison between senior management and the project teams. Regularly report to Senior Director about project statuses, challenges, and achievements.
  • Act as Owner’s Advisor with primary responsibility for all phases of a program and projects.
  • Manage overall planning, design, and construction process and orchestrate all activities related to our project teams.
  • Guide clients through the complexities of design and construction, with a focus on the incorporation of ownership priorities into the design, construction logistics, and sequencing, as well as design management of the architecture and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with the Architect, Contractor, and other project team members to meet the project objectives and resolve issues.
  • Manage overall project budget and schedule. Report to project team and client on a regular basis.
  • Lead our project teams in the selection process for all consultants and vendors, including preparation of RFQ/RFP, researching and comparing firms under consideration, and recommending and negotiating optimum business terms.
  • Assist in the development and management of the project strategic plans and program initiatives to meet the goals and needs of the owner.

Qualifications

  • Supporting clients in California K-14 and/or Healthcare markets is highly preferred.
  • Certified Construction Management (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years' of full-time professional experience in the management and administration of various programs and projects under programs to include, scope development, planning and design, budget and funding allocation and close-out.
  • Minimum six (6) years’ of experience in managing programs in a public or educational agency, with full responsibility for coordinating complex activities.
  • Experience using various project management tools like Procore, MS Project, Sharepoint, Bluebeam, and other toolsets.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as business presentation skills. Develop and maintain both a communication style and relationship that fits the client’s preferred style.
  • The ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff across organizational lines, including other client business units.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
